EWB-SVCE INAUGURATION '22
The main agenda of this EWB-Inaugural function was to announce the elected board members of EWB-SVCE student chapter for the academic year 2022-23 and to deliver the annual report of 2021-22. Ms.Ranjani and Ms.Srivarshini served as hosts for the inauguration. The event began with Tamil-Thai vazhutu, after which Dr.R.Palani (Faculty advisor of EWBSVCE) gave the welcome address. The yearly report of the academic year 2021-22 was presented by Ms.Abinaya. Later the announcement of the newly elected EWBSVCE board members for the academic year 2022–23 was made by Dr.R.Palani. A memento was presented by the presider to the guest of honour. The chief guest Mr.Alagu Sundaram Veerappan (Professional member of EWB HYDERABAD) gave a talk on previous EWB works, current projects, and future work ideas. This was followed by the felicitation of core team members of the academic year 2021-22 .Finally, Mr.Justin delivered the vote of appreciation, and the event was concluded with the National Anthem. |
IDEATHON '22
Ideathon’22 conducted by EWB (Engineers without Borders) SVCE student chapter aimed at unleashing one’s creativity to diagnose problems and ideate the most viable solution. Students from various departments and domains, either as a team or as individuals, showed their overwhelming participation, which manifolds the basic ideology of EWB. Participants' presentation style, content, and responses to questions posed by the judges and audience were analysed by the judges, who are experts in that domain, and the winners were scrutinized. |
INFINITUS '23
Unleashing a Spectrum of Creative Dimensions
INFINITUS , one of the most distinguished 5 day flagship event organized by the EWB SVCE Student Chapter exclusively for sophomores aimed at unleashing one’s inner competency, true potential to crack the complex puzzles and spot thinking capability which tested students’ analytical, oratorical, technical cognizance and brought them to the stage for them to express. |

DAY 1 On Day 1, three events were conducted: Wordsmith, Morse code, and 4 Pics One Word. It can be assumed that these events tested the participant's intellect. Based on their performance, a few candidates were filtered out, indicating that the competition is highly selective. DAY 2 On Day 2, the event was Block and Tackle, which involved physical strength and teamwork. It can be inferred that the competition tests a wide range of skills, like language and communication skills. DAY 3 On Day 3, the event was Mobile App Mockup, which suggests that the competition also evaluates participants design skills and there ability to think outside the box it especially tested their ability to work as team to be able to come together and put different ideas as one app idea. Eight participants were selected for the next round, indicating that the competition is getting tougher. DAY 4 On Day 4, the event was Shipwreck, which may have tested the participants problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure. Only five participants were able to move on to the next round, indicating that the competition is highly challenging. DAY 5 The event finale named Strategica took place where only 5 students from the previous round were qualified and they turned out to be the finalists of INFINITUS. The event was based on strategic planning where each participant was provided with a company and had to convince to invest in their company. Our Alumnus MR.Sanjaiy (Ex-president of EWB SVCE student chapter) served as the judge .The event was filled with heated debates and fierce rounds of discussion. Dr.K.Pitchandi ,Professor & Controller of Examination at SVCE, served as the chief guest for valedictory .The winner turned out to be from the Chemical Department “Mukundan”. The Rolling Trophy was awarded to the winner and will be passed on to the next year's winner. The entire event ended on a high note with everyone's active participation and support provided. |
AGRO-NOMICS
An Agricultural Innovation Challenge

AGRO-NOMICS is an agricultural innovation challenge conducted by ENGINEERS WITHOUT BORDERS (EWB SVCE) in association with VAPOUR FARM – An agriculturally based startup. This event brought passionate individuals and teams with an interest in agriculture and technology.
The challenge aimed to address various problem statements related to agriculture and give innovative solutions to enhance the agricultural sector. Participants had the opportunity to showcase their skills, knowledge, and creativity by presenting their ideas before a panel of expert
judges. This event created a platform to develop groundbreaking solutions to tackle agricultural challenges.
AGRO-NOMICS was introduced to EWB members through an offline meet-up and promoted online and in classrooms, resulting in a significant audience turnout. Then the interested people were asked to register themselves with their team of 3 members through the circulated Google
form. Registered teams were required to submit their abstracts on the chosen problem statement which served as a basis for filtration for the next round. To qualify for the next round the submitted abstracts were asked to fulfil the following criteria like novelty, sustainability, viability and reliability of the idea expressed in their abstract. The selected teams were allowed to present their ideas through an offline presentation in front of the jury members. Before the presentation, teams were allocated a specific period to submit their PowerPoint presentations.
On the day the event commenced at 10 AM with an inaugural speech by Dr.C. Anand Babu sir, who was a former scientist at IGCAR and a former professor at chemical engineering department in SVCE. He emphasized the motive of the event. The teams which got qualified to round 2 was teams were divided into different halls based on whether their solutions involved circuitry or not.
Each team was allotted a maximum of 15 minutes to present their PowerPoint presentations in front of the respected jury members which showcased their innovative solution to the identified agricultural challenges. Following the presentations, the jury actively engaged in questioning the teams, while other teams had the opportunity to ask valid questions and earn bonus points towards
the overall evaluation. The jury assessed the performance, solutions, and various criteria such as solution quality, presentation skills, innovation, and problem statement relevance to allocate marks. Post-presentation and questioning sessions, the jury members submitted their scorecards to the EWB body, serving as the basis for evaluating the teams and determining the winners.
The valedictory session concluded the event at 2:30 PM, the winners, the runner and the special mention of the Agronomics were announced and they were awarded the certificate of appreciation and cash pool of INR 5000. The chief guest of the event recognized the top-performing teams and their innovative solutions and suggested they improvise their idea. Overall, the event provided a platform for the participants to showcase their skills and creativity in tackling agricultural challenges. The event's step-by-step filtration process, offline presentation,
questioning sessions, and jury evaluations ensured transparency to the participating teams. The event fostered innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving within the agricultural sector, and it encouraged participants to develop practical and sustainable solutions to address critical
agricultural challenges.
